☃️ Winter is slowly but surely coming to Vancouver. How the skincare routine should be changed during the cold season?
Here are some essential tips:
1. Remove your make up with a cleansing oil (not soap or gel).
A lot of over the counter makeup removers are alcohol based and/or have a lot of detergents which can seriously dry out the skin. Instead, try a natural oil-based product, which will take off your makeup and nourish your skin in the process.
2. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize.
Due to indoor heating, the skin feels much drier than usual. It removes moisture from the air, which lowers skin's resistance and makes surface cells dry out. The temperature might be quite comfortable, but dry, itchy skin will often follow. The outdoor absolute air humidity is low, which is again contributes to drying the skin.
3. Protect the skin with an appropriate product. Usually, the winter creams are much heavier than regular ones. If you are not comfortable with a greasy feeling, find the professional products which protect but have a nice melting texture.
